**APPETITE™ IS A RAIN OR SHINE EVENT**

APPETITE™ – A GASTRONOMIC EXPERIENCE
isn’t just headliners Andrew Zimmern and Giada De Laurentiis – it’s an entire weekend celebrating the very best in culinary and epicurean arts. On Saturday, August 2nd, the daylong APPETITE™ AFTERNOON portion of the festival will present the very best in wine pairings and tastings, cocktail and mixology workshops, gourmet cooking and dessert demos and more.

Sunday, August 3rd is Blues & Brews day, featuring the very best in local and regional craft and artisanal beers, including home-brewing demonstrations, tastings, barbecue demos and more.

And on each day, the Appetite™ Marketplace will be open for business, offering food fans a unique shopping experience with New Jersey’s best culinary shops, artisan grocers, accessory vendors and more. Plus, each Appetite™ Marketplace vendor will donate 20% of their weekend earnings to our friends at the JBJ Soul Kitchen, located just a few blocks from the Basie at 207 Monmouth Street. Their mission is to feed people healthy, well-balanced meals in a welcoming environment – all without prices on the menu. The JBJ Soul Kitchen is a nonprofit community program run by the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation.

ITALIAN WINE TASTING WITH VICTOR RALLO: 1PM – 3PM
Victor Rallo Jr. is a successful, seasoned restaurateur, wine critic and TV personality. He owns and operates Red Bank’s own Basil T’s Brewery & Italian Grill and Rumson’s Undici Taverna Rustica, while his PBS show, Eat! Drink! Italy! With Vic Rallo returned for its second season earlier this month after earning two Emmy nominations earlier in the year. Vic will present a vast array of Italian wines curated by Rallo himself, who will also be on hand with information on each sampling and to answer any questions you may have.

Mixologist, Kim Masi demonstrates how to make some of Red Restaurant’s signature cocktails and serves up a sampling of her favorite concoctions.

Europe may come to mind when thinking of delicious, hand crafted cheeses and beer, but America is on the forefront of a burgeoning artisan food movement that rivals foreign production and is unencumbered by tradition. Cheesemonger Olivia Haver will discuss how to pair beer and cheese, style profiles, and the innovation taking place right here on our soil.

Osteria Morini (New York) sous chef Steve McCall reveals the tricks of the trade – the simple ingredients, the special tactics and all the magic involved in creating restaurant-quality dishes in your own home.
5:15: Paleo-riffic
Join the folks from Avon-By-The-Sea’s Cavé, A Paleo Eatery, for a hands-on demonstration and Q&A of everything you need to know about living the paleo diet lifestyle.

BLUES AND BREWS: Appetite™ Sunday is a daylong celebration of beer! Great Lakes Brewing Company, Brewery Ommegang, Italian microbrewer 32 Via Dei Birrai and the Flying Fish Brewing Company will each be on hand, offering samples of some of their tastiest and best-known brews.

Plus, Rollin’ Bistro will be on hand with BBQ demos and instruction throughout the day, plus plenty of delicious barbecue for all. Rollin Bistro is owned and operated by Laercio M. Chamon, Jr., an area chef of Brazilian descent who got his start at Brookdale Community College’s Culinary Vocational School. From there, he went on to work for Jersey Shore institutions such as Doris & Ed’s and Jamian’s, opening Rollin’ several years ago to specialize in everything from food truck fare, casual and fine dining to BBQ pig roasts and beyond.

Bill will explore several informative aspects of chili peppers, which include historical background, identifying your chili taste zone, health benefits of chili peppers and more.

Whether you call it pork roll or Taylor Ham is irrelevant – it’s delicious, it’s New Jersey, and this is your chance to see John Yarusi, owner of Johnny’s Pork Roll Truck, prepare it in ways you could have never imagined.
3:45 PM: Butcher Basics and Beyond
Award-winning butcher Stew Goldstein of Monmouth Meats demonstrates the secrets of his trademark Marco Roast, plus gives a lesson on how to debone a leg of lamb for a roast. And yes – there will be plenty of samples for all!

After The Reign is a six piece American country music group consisting of Willie Kelly (Lead Vocals), John Strevens (Lead/Rhythm Guitar, Vocals), Dave Burlett (Bass Guitar, Vocals), Bob Grado (Steel Guitar), Clay Perlman (Lead/Rhythm Guitar), and Greg Annunziata (Drums).

The Billy Walton Band’s sound is a combination of hard blues reminiscent of Hendrix, Clapton and Vaughn mixed with a healthy dose of Warren Hayes and Derrick Trucks.

The Chuck Lambert Band is a powerhouse blues band. Drawing upon the influence of many Blues genres, such as Chicago and Texas-style blues and Kansas City jump, they also inject an original perspective into their performances.
