Join us this weekend world-renowned celebrity chefs GIADA DE LAURENTIIS and Bizarre Foods host ANDREW ZIMMERN at both of our Appetite™ festival events: the original at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, NJ and our inaugural foray into Maryland at the beautiful Strathmore in North Bethesda! Andrew Zimmern headlines Red Bank on Friday, August 1st and North Bethesda on Saturday the 2nd; Giada De Laurentiis lands in North Bethesda on Friday, August 1st and moves north to Red Bank on the 2nd.
In addition to its headliners, the Strathmore’s Appetite™ Afternoon set for Saturday, August 2nd, featuring DC’s most beloved chefs as they show off and share the foods that made them famous. You’ll learn about everything from cheese to chocolate and indulge in samples from dozens of local eateries. Plus, fans and foodies can enjoy a huge variety of the DC area’s most creative food trucks, and live music will fill the air around the Backyard Theater stage – everything you need to come make a day of it! Featured performers include 19th Street Band, Chopteeth, Howlin’ at the Moon with Jay Summerour, and Israel and Morris.
Red Bank’s Appetite™ Afternoons run two days — Saturday, August 2nd and Sunday, August 3rd. Each day kicks off at noon with the Basie’s infamous “Build Your Own Bloody Mary Bar.” On Saturday, the theme is “Wine & Dine,” including an Italian wine tasting curated by <strongBasil T’s and Undici proprietor and PBS “Eat, Drink, Italy!” host Vic Rallo, plus olive oil, cheese, chocolate and beer tastings, BBQ and chef demos, a U.S. vs. France wine tasting throwdown, live music from After The Reign and Aardvark Smile and more! On Sunday, the theme is “Blues & Brews,” with a HUGE selection of some of the best craft beers in the state, region and country, even more barbecue, meat butchering and prep demos, more wine tastings and pairings, and – get this – an entire lesson on PORK ROLL! Plus, live music from Jukebox Criminals, the Billy Walton Band and Chuck Lambert. And if that’s not enough… some of the Jersey Shore’s greatest food trucks will be in attendance both days.
